Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to allow time to meet the group and change into your walking gear. Ensure you bring along appropriate clothing and footwear, see equipment, plus sufficient refreshments for the walks. Remember it's far better to carry too much water than not enough!

Description: SUNDAY WALK - SANDY - CANCELLED: *** UPDATE - Due to heavy snow conditions around Sandy, this walk has been cancelled. ***

A 6.5 mile stroll around the Sandy, Everton and the Greensands Ridge, with options for an extended walk in the Sandy RSPB. All new members welcome. Bring lunch although other options avaliable in RSPB or pub in Everton. Parking location is further up the track from the postcode, past the vetinary station and near the foot of the Sandy TV aerial.

The week will be split between Hadrian's Wall and Northumbria. Walk details may be subject to change depending on the weather conditions and ambitions of the group on each day. (Starting location and times to be confirmed closer to the time). Contact Stephen (07751913607) for the meeting point and start time. Membership of Hike MK (or another Ramblers group) is required. Members are to book their own accommodation. Accommodation is available in Hexham, Haltwhistle, Greenhead, or at the YHA in Once Brewed.

Saturday Travel to Hadrian's Wall

Sunday 22nd April Hadrian's Wall: Greenhead to Housesteads Roman Fort. Meet at the Information Centre car park at Housesteads Roman Fort. We will be catching a bus to Greenhead and walking back along the wall. Monday 23rd April Hadrian's Wall: Housesteads Roman Fort to Chesters Roman Fort Meet at the Information Centre car park at Housesteads Roman Fort. Wednesday 25th April Northumbria Coastal walk. Meet at the Information Centre car park in Craster. Thursday 26th April The Cheviot Starting at Langleeford (Grid Ref. NT 953 225). There is limited parking at Langleeford. Car sharing can be arranged from Wooler if notified in advance. A circular walk taking in the summit of the Cheviot (815m), which is the highest hill in Northumbria, returning via Langleeford valley. The walk can optionally be extended to include Comb Fell and Hedgehope Hill.

Friday 27th April Choice of: (1) Boat trip to the Farne Islands, from Seahouses. The boat tour includes a cruise around all the Farne Islands, viewing the sea birds on the cliff faces and visiting the Grey Seal colonies. This tour lasts approximately 2½ hours including one hour spent on Inner Farne.
