Improving Our Paths

So that we and others can all enjoy the many walks in our area, we take it upon ourselves to report any problems to the local council. Every once in a while we organise "Path check" days which demystifies how this is done and gives added focus to areas we know have not been walked in a while. Problems we may spot include:
  • Broken or damaged sign posts

  • Difficult to negotiate or non existent styles

  • Overgrown pathways

By reporting these action is taken by the council to put things right either themselves or through the landowner. Path check days give an air of "expedition" and challenge to our walks - truly pioneering in Buckinghamshire!

"Own" your own slice of the UK. Become a Parish Footpath Rep!

One of the Ramblers four key directions is to "Promote the integrity of the path network". We do this by appealing to the general public via campaigns: http://www.useyourpaths.info and through our very own parish adoption.

If you are interested in adopting your favourite parish, E-mail us at:

Find out more on what path reps do at: http://www.ramblers.org.uk/footpaths, join us on a footpath check and see the vacant parishes available for adoption in our area.
